Storytelling through music videos is nothing new, but Switchfoot’s single “You Found Me” called for something deeper—something raw, visual, and personal. The song’s lyrics reflect a deep wrestling with brokenness and hope, and the band wanted a visual companion that wouldn’t just echo the words, but reveal the spaces between them. That’s where Lot35 came in. Our challenge: turn a 3-minute alt-rock track into a short film that felt honest, cinematic, and soul-stirring.

We worked directly with the band to understand the personal weight behind the song. “You Found Me” isn’t a linear story—it’s a confession, a searchlight in the dark, a prayer shouted into the void. We knew the video couldn’t be clean or polished—it had to feel discovered.

“Our director pitched the concept of following a man running—chased not by a villain, but by his own collapse.”

We shot in the Mojave Desert at dawn, letting the stark landscape echo the emotional wilderness of the song. Our lead character is alone, breathless, sprinting through ruin and dust. Throughout the film, ghostlike images of people and memories flicker into frame—love, grief, addiction, redemption—all while the band plays in the shadows, half-seen like a memory you can’t quite forget.

“The film walks the line between hallucination and healing.”

Every frame was graded to feel sun-drenched and haunted—warm tones against cold emptiness. We let the imperfections breathe: lens flares, camera shake, grain. Even the edit was paced to feel unstable, echoing the lyrical tension between ‘being lost’ and ‘being found.’

The video premiered on YouTube and racked up shares across social platforms, with fans calling it “one of the most powerful visuals the band has ever released.” It was later featured in Switchfoot’s touring visuals, allowing fans to experience it both as an intimate video and a live, immersive moment.

“You Found Me” reminds us that some stories don’t end in answers—but in being found in the middle of the chaos. And that’s exactly where we wanted this film to live.

Marketing a new album can be tricky, and despite being one of the best-selling bands in Christian music history Casting Crowns is always looking to innovate. Their soon-to-be-released album “Only Jesus” was packed with evocative lyrics and amazing stories. Casting Crowns wanted a way to market the album as a cohesive package rather than a collection of individual songs, and they approached us to collaborate on a solution. Lot35 needed to find a way to bring the whole album together visually… so we made a Visual Album. A visual album is a collection of music videos that, when watched in sequence, form a story. We took this idea to the greatest possible lengths by choosing to create an 11 episode story, one episode for each song on the album, and center the entire story around one home. This story would follow a family over the course of three generations as they deal with various challenges and seasons of life inside this family home. “Our lead writer met with the band to get an idea of the album’s core ideas, and converted those themes into a 70 page film script.” Our lead writer met with the band to get an idea of the album’s core ideas, and converted those themes into a 70 page film script. The script was written to perfectly mirror the message of each song without showing the content of the lyrics literally. Many of the songs on the album had stories and ideas that were never directly put on screen and this decision was very intentional. We wanted viewers to realize that the themes of this album are universal. “each episode highlighting a song on the album that listeners may have otherwise missed.” After a grueling two week production schedule the Lot35 team began to work tirelessly on the edit. We released a new episode every week for 11 weeks straight, each episode highlighting a song on the album that listeners may have otherwise missed. In the end the episodes were shared repeatedly on social media, creating wonderful buzz for the album. The Only Jesus Visual Album went on to win a Dove Award from the Gospel Music Association, recognizing the project as the best longform Christian video of the year.
